An Ode to Slowness
and living in the sown life
I used to dream of a slower life.
Now that I’m in it: meals on the table, fewer meetings, a peaceful job where we talk about Jesus all day…
I feel like I’m unraveling.
Space to be creative? No inbox fires? Family first culture?
My brain is whispering:
“This can’t be right.”
But here’s the truth I’m preaching to myself:
This isn’t the soft life.
It’s the sown life.
The fruit of prayers, sacrifice, pivots, and obedience.
And freedom?
Freedom takes practice.
So I’m learning to sit in the quiet without panicking.
To let peace be holy.
To believe God prepares us in calm, not just in chaos.
If you’re feeling this too, you’re not broken.
You’re just being rewired.
Your body’s been in survival.
But your soul’s finally home.
Let it rest.
Let it be reintroduced to joy.
Let it trust that God can prepare you in calm, not just in chaos.
Because this quiet life?
It might be the most radical revival yet.
🕊 Question for your journal:
“God, what would You have me notice in this season I was too busy to see before?”
