This Week’s Reflection
Tell it to your children, and their children after them.
Your faith isn’t failing because God has changed.
It’s weary because you’ve stopped remembering what He’s already done.
The Bible calls us over and over to remember His faithfulness and to tell it to our children and their children. Because when we do, He’s no longer just “a god out there somewhere.” He becomes our God. The same God who carried Abraham, Joshua, Esther, and the widow with the jars… is the One carrying you now.
Remember the shepherd boy He made courageous.
Remember the barren wombs He blessed.
Remember the broken women He redeemed.
Remember the debts He paid.
And yes, remember the 500 sq. ft. apartment He provided for, when you thought you’d have nowhere to go.
So pause. Remember. Tell it again.
That’s where strength is found.
Scripture for the Week
“We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.”
Psalm 78:4
Prayer for the Weary Mom
Lord,
We come to You weary, with hands full of invisible work and hearts that feel heavy. Thank You that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. You have never stopped being faithful.
Help us to remember.
Remind us of the shepherd boy You made courageous.
The widow whose jars never ran dry.
The barren wombs You blessed.
The debts You paid.
And the 500 sq. ft. apartment You provided when we thought we’d have nowhere to go.
Let us not forget Your goodness, Lord.
Help us tell the story of Your faithfulness to our children, and their children, so they too may know You as our God—not just a name on a page, but the Living God who provides, redeems, and carries His people.
When we feel weak, draw us back to You.
Let our strength be found not in striving, but in remembering.
Not in fear, but in faith.
Not in Egypt, but in Your presence.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
