🕊️ The Quiet Hour | On Surrender

July 21, 2025

This Week’s Reflection

Presence over performance. God’s timing, not my striving.

You know that ache, how it settles like a weight on your chest.

The fear that if you’re not planning, fixing, controlling, nothing good will come. That if you stop working, the future might unravel.

But surrender carries a different kind of lightness.
Not happiness for happiness’ sake, but peace.
The quiet kind. The steady kind.

What a mercy to learn: it’s not your effort that sustains you. It’s God’s grace.

Jesus invites the weary and the burdened.

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.”

Partner with Him.
Walk with Him.
Stay shoulder to shoulder with Him.
Abide in Him.

“For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

He knows that ache in your heart as intimately as you do.
He knows the weariness in your bones.
He sees you in your struggle.

Could it be He’s been working in this field long before you ever showed up?
Could it be He was here all along—but in your striving, you missed Him?

He says, Come to Me.
Because He is easy to find.
Because He is already near.

We need only come.
Lay down our yoke.
Pick up His.

His yoke is easy.
His burden is light.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
— Matthew 11:28-30

Prayer for Surrender,

Heavenly Father,
Fill us again with Your Spirit.
Help us release what isn’t ours to carry.
Help us trust Your timing more than our striving.
Help us model surrender well, to our children, to our families, to our communities.
Remind us that You are already at work.
You stay.
You lead.
You carry what we cannot.

Amen.

Thank you for being here. I’ll see you again next Monday, 6 AM CT.
Until then, stay rooted. Stay prayerful. Stay connected.
You’re not alone.

Have a prayer request? Leave it below, and we’ll pray for you next week.
